International EXPO a Huge Success in Silicon Valley
The International Expo held last thursday, 31st March, saw a turn out of 34 presenters, around 70 investors and more than 500 attendees packed into the main event hall at Plug and Play Tech Center’s Sunnyvale campus. The 34 startups, which represented a total of 15 countries, were given a 2 minute time slot to present on the main stage in front of some of Silicon Valley most successful investors and corporate executives from big technology firms like Paypal and Samsung.
Overall, the event was deemed a huge success judging by the feedback and response from both investors and audience, most of them came away impressed by the general quality of startups and the quality of the presentations. The big winners of the day were the 3 startups, Accedo from Sweden, TapMap from Ireland and Super Compare It from Italy, who all went off with a free Samsung Galaxy Tab each courtesy of Samsung.
Ending off the full day event on a high was the launch of Plug and Play Egypt by Dr Ossama Hassanein, Chairman of Rising Tide Management, and Saeed Amidi, Plug and Play’s very own CEO.
